How To Make Cleaning Less Miserable (Tips for Bad Days)

I know that cleaning is really hard for some people especially when you’re neurodivergent or struggling with your mental health. I can’t even list the number of ways that depression, ADHD, autism, or hundreds of other struggles can make cleaning more difficult. (P.S. if you’re trying to keep your house clean with kids, I have no idea how you do it.) But today I wanted to go over a few cleaning tips for when everything feels hard. From body-doubling and clean with mes to the five things cleaning method and perfectionism, there are a lot of tips out there, so I wanted to share what works best for me when it comes to cleaning my room/house. I hope some of this can help you whatever you’re struggling with.

How could they have proven with evidence that autism is a spectrum and not different issues? I'm not saying you're wrong I'm genuinely curious. Whether something is a spectrum or separate doesn't seem like something that can be proven or disproven being that it's nothing more than how we categorize them.

I am glad that you are not judging disabilities that are not diagnosed as not being real. Because if have left-occipital lobe damage, with resulting people proclaiming that it must in opposition to the diagnosis be, autism.

Okay So I just watched Loop two days ago And I absolutely sobbed Both out of happiness and out of sadness I’m undiagnosed/ self diagnosed for both autism and ADHD and so many other things And Renee is diagnosed non-verbal And I truly never thought I’d ever relate to a character or actual individual like her But when she was stimming and gesturing when she needed something I saw so much of my behavior in her Cause I often am non-verbal when I’m not masking and I use gestures and noises to indicate things And when she reacted to the motor I felt so seen Also I felt so seen by the creator of the video when they (unsure of pronouns) said that they use humor as masking and how hard it is to tell when they’re being serious That was how I behaved during my teenage years especially in high school It still happens but now that I actually have developed aids for my undiagnosed disorders It actually helps And thank you for speaking up about undiagnosed individuals I’ve gotten called out by an ex friend who as far as I know is allistic and on multiple occasions she’s shamed me for self diagnosing myself So when diagnosed people have a positive view on undiagnosed and self-diagnosed people it’s so much better for the community and individuals Thank you

i'm extremely surprised not to see extraordinary attorney woo on this list! (spoilers ahead) disclaimer that i don't claim it to be the best autistic representation ever, but one of the first things you get to know young-woo for is her special interest in cetaceans, especially whales, and her sensory issues (which inform her wardrobe, she can only handle specific textures and cuts the tags off her clothes). and THEN (or alongside it, i really can't remember) you get to know her savant-like abilities with law (although it's her special interest as well, as far as i'm aware). but even with that, they show that alongside developmental delay, and as she practices law she faces a lot of workplace/systemic ableism as well as ways that her autism (mostly with social issues and taking things literally) gets in the way. despite not being portrayed by an autistic actress (as far as i'm aware) she's played really well for the episodes i've seen (about half). there's even an episode where one of her clients is a high support needs autistic adult and she experiences an EXTREME communication barrier, and i thought that it was interesting for them to show not just different displays of autism but also the fact that not all autistic people are gong to immediately click or understand each other either because they are DIFFERENT INDIVIDUALS. there's just so many little details to the show that i couldn't really list here but i definitely recommend at least checking it out, i'd love to perhaps know what you think! and i think perhaps becuase of this video, i might watch community. FINALLY. this was a great video foster!

One of my favourite representations of autism is in A Kind Of Spark. Yes the story itself is very cheesy, and the story is centered around the fact that the main character is autistic (which some people see as a negative), but it's written BY an autistic person and I honestly think the representation is good. It shows meltdowns, sensory issues, hell, the main character's sister gets burnout and goes nonverbal! As an autistic person, who has only read the book (I don't know if the show is worse), I think it's really good! OH OH OH! AND THE MAIN CHARACTER IN THE BOOK 'CITADEL' IS A NON-SPEAKING AUTISTIC GIRL!

Renee from loop was also played by a non-verbal autistic actress! They essentially followed her around the studio and recorded the noises she made, then edited that into the short film, and also based the character’s appearance off of her.

After watching this, I started thinking about how Criminal Minds did their "autistic" character. It's never confirmed I don't think, but Dr. Reid is hinted at, very bluntly in season 8, at being autistic. Not sure if you've ever seen the show at all, but I thought his representation of being neurodivergent was pretty good.

Autism truly is a very diverse spectrum. For example, my older brother is autistic with a special interest in anything that is about putting things together (legos, puzzles, equipment in video games, etc). He was diagnosed when he was 12 and he’s functioning enough to live comfortably in an apartment with our other brother and their friend. Compared to me, I haven’t been diagnosed but I’ve been heavily peer reviewed. I’m pretty high functioning and I try to have at least a loose plan in place for everything. I am diagnosed with ADHD and I mask a lot. So much so that I didn’t realize how much of a mask there was until I started making some actually good friends two years ago. Before that, I mostly kept to myself because any attempt to have a conversation or to make a friend was met with this off putting feeling I sensed other people had towards me. Like they knew something was different but they couldn’t place what and they didn’t like that. That and the people I was forced to be around up until changing schools were assholes so-

I hate it when autistic people (like me) get compared to Sheldon Cooper because it seems like then we have to be smart and a savant and if we are not then we are useless.

  • @miravlix
    @miravlix 5 днів тому

Sheldon is not autistic, he is only autistic when autism is a joke, so he is a modern day version of rainman where they take all the stupid abusive things and stuff them into a character. They don't even try to have him react the same way all the time, one joke is he can't do something and then he is fine when that ruins another joke. Maybe Sheldon is a psychopath pretending to be autistic. Mostly he is the reason most of us end up losers in life, because the STORY is that Sheldon has to change, not the world around him. Like that time his brother change his name... Fuck that, my sister did that to me and I'm past 50 years old and I still can't handle she changed her name and I and Sheldon is the fucking losers that need to die because we get upset over it?

I saw a couple comments mention Dr Brennan from Bones. I found out she was based on an autistic person years after first watxhing the show and I'cve rewatched twice since. I think the character is great but she was treated rather poorly at times because she was different. And those differences were often attributed to her intelligence or trauma which is bad enough. But knowing she is autistic makes rewatching harder, especially the earlier seasons. He best friends--Booth and Angela--both say some really awful, hurtful things to Brennan at times.

Music and St Elsewhere are the worst representations of Autism. They try to depict stimming as Autistic people having these elaborate imaginations while doing it. Musicals for Music and for St Elsewhere at the end the entire show was just the imagination of an Autistic person stimming with a snow globe.

Hi! My name is Peyton and I’ve watched some of your videos abt autism, and I think they’re rlly cool and informative! In my hometown I’ve been working trying to establish and organization called the N.L.D.A.O Project (Nel-daow). This is an acronym which stands for Neurodivergent, LGBTQ, Difference Acceptance Organization. Basically it’s an project for LGBTQ and Different Disabilties (such as autism) awareness and acceptance while also discussing bullying and mental health awareness. While I’m in the works of partnering with other people, I want to found my own social medias for this (such as UA-cam) and make my own videos on these topics! So I was wondering what type of cameras and editing sites you use to make you’re videos since I wanna have a similar style. Thanks! :3

a friend of mine with autism is one of the best mathematicians in the country and knows a shit ton about others subjects too, sheldon is clearly an exageration on this idea and in young sheldon we see that its clearly not autism that "makes him smart" like some people seem to believe, as there are others genius children who they show to behave like "normal people". I also dont think you can say because sheldon is objectively a bad person its a bad representation of autism as it makes it seem like autistic people dont care about anyone. This is more likely due to his southern upbringing causing to have some questionable beliefs. Also Abed is peak.

This isn't something i struggle with but i do still live with my parents. I do clean as i think when it's done it looks amazing. I do one thing each day i think. So i would clean the bathroom sink, then next day i would clean all the kitchen sides and table. I'll try hoover most days like the priority areas like kitchen and front door. The one thing i don't like doing is toilet as i hate being close to germs. I feel if i don't clean then i build up anxiety in my head thinking I've got all these things to do. When you clean one thing you realise it wasn't that bad and there isn't much more to do. My struggles i struggle with are is cooking. I have anxiety that i am not cooking the food right and lack of trying to cook new things

I have to say about Qunnie, I absolutely love her, and in her first few scenes I was like oh, autistic coded, and then SHE WAS ACTUALLY AUTISTIC, and I was very excited. But…she is the most real I think autistic character I’ve ever watched, and it actually makes me really uncomfortable. I don’t cry very often for movies, but some of her scenes make me cry, because she says something, and it’s real, and I know the exact feeling, and it’s weird, I get used to shows never actually showing what I think and feel. Usually I don’t quite relate to characters emotions, so it feels like they’re showing something deeply private, and really painful. The whole episode they to go to the book signing with Sasha, I felt it and it was hard to watch because of how many times ive been in the same situation. You get used to feeling like no one at all has the same emotions you do, and then you watch it in a movie and feels so eerie.

I'd recommend checking out Dungeon Meshi it's a fantasy cooking anime, and the main character displays a lot of autistic character traits. I don't think he's canonically autistic but it is very clear that was the author's intention. I really like him, i think it's at least worth a watch.
